The Four Essential Steps to Your Calling
God doesn't just call you—He prepares, equips, and sends you with authority.
These 4 pivotal stages are foundational for moving from being called to being released.
🔹 Step 1: The Call
“Then He [Jesus] said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’”
— Matthew 4:19 (NKJV)
The call is God’s divine invitation to partner with you in fulfilling a greater purpose. When you choose to respond, He
not only chooses you in return, but also begins to fill the deep void within you—revealing your true purpose and the mission
He has uniquely designed for your life.
Key Actions:
Accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Cultivate intimacy with the Holy Spirit and learn to hear His voice.
Surrender fully—mind, heart, and lifestyle.
📦 Reflection:
Have you sensed recently that you need more than the physical world can offer—that God is calling you?
How have you responded—or resisted?
📖 Scripture Focus:
Genesis 12:1-4 — God calls Abram to leave everything familiar.
Isaiah 6:8 (NKJV) — “Here am I. Send me!”
📝 Action Step:
Write a prayer of surrender. Tell God you're willing to obey and follow His lead—even into the unknown.
🔹 Step 2: The Preparation/Training
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk
in them.”
— Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV)
God prepares those He calls and chooses (Psalm 32:8, 2 Timothy 3:16).
He slowly separates you from old ways, people, and things that will hinder you on your spiritual Journey. He also equips you
through His Word and transforms your mindset to reflect His Kingdom.
Key Practices:
Stay in Scripture daily to grow in wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment which helps you grow and
mature.
and equips you for the days ahead.
Learn the fear of the Lord: reverence, awe, and honor.
Worship, pray, and fast consistently.
Trust God. Be determined and disciplined.
Fellowship with fellow believers—Unity means a lot to our Father.
Let go of what (or who) hinders your walk—for example: unforgiveness, sin, dabbling in demonic works, etc.
Honor the spiritual authority God has placed in your life.
📦 Reflection:
What is God asking you to release right now?
Are you clinging to things, relationships, or environments that limit your growth?
Do you have a consistent spiritual routine—prayer, fasting etc.?
📖 Scripture Focus:
1 Kings 19:19–21 — Elisha leaves all to follow Elijah.
Romans 12:2 (NKJV) — “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) — “Meditate in it day and night… for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will
have good success.”
📝 Action Step:
Create a daily spiritual rhythm: Choose specific hours in the morning and evening for prayers, and find time to read and
meditate on God’s Word. God will be there to fellowship with you.
Create a weekly spiritual rhythm: Choose a specific day in the week for fasting and prayer, Scripture study, and quiet
reflection. Come ready to receive from Him—bring your notebook and pen. Write it down.
🔹 Step 3: The Mandate (Authority)
“Behold, I give you authority... over all the power of the enemy.”
— Luke 10:19 (NKJV)
A divine mandate is God’s official commission empowered by His authority and purpose. Obedience, along with a
surrendered life (righteous living) and alignment with divine principles, such as faith, equips and prepares you for this. The
mandate represents your unique spiritual assignment to serve His Kingdom on earth. Stepping out without His direction can
lead to unnecessary danger.
You must wait for:
Completion of training and spiritual maturity
Confirmation through prayer or through your God-assigned leader
Timing and clear instructions
Key Point:
God will increase your authority as you grow in wisdom, obedience, and humility as you meditate on His Word and become
more like Jesus. On June 6th, 2025, God spoke to my sister and me: “Sanctification is the vase that holds My presence, My
power, and My anointing.” He also said this to me on April 6th, 2024: “Did I not tell you that as you live in My glory, it will
come through time, patience, and responsibility?”
📦 Reflection:
Are you eager to step out, or are you willing to wait until God says “Go”?
Have you asked God for confirmation of your assignment?
📖 Scripture Focus:
Acts 13:2-3 (NKJV) — Saul and Barnabas are released after fasting and prayer.
Luke 24:49 (NKJV) — "Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are
endued with power from on high."
📝 Action Step:
Ask God for clarity: What area of your life needs more preparation before the mandate is fulfilled?
🔹 Step 4: The Release
“God who calls you is faithful, and He will surely do what He promised you.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:24 (NKJV)
When the time is right, God sends you out—but never without strategy, covering, and protection.
You are equipped. You are released. Now, move forward in obedience and authority.
Real-Life Warning:
Premature action can expose you to unnecessary spiritual attack (see 1 Kings 13). Always move when God says move.
📦 Reflection:· Has God released you into an assignment? How are you stewarding it?
What resistance or spiritual warfare are you facing?
📖 Scripture Focus:
Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) — “Be strong and of good courage.”
Isaiah 61:1(NKJV) — “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.”
📝 Action Step:
Write down the next step you believe God is asking you to take. Pray for courage and strategy.
